How To Fix Typing Lag On Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Many people have reported experiencing major lag on the keyboard for the Galaxy Nexus. This happens when actually typing words (not garbage just to see how fast you can type). It is especially noticed by fast typers when the keyboard is in landscape position, and when using apps, like email, that use autocorrect (as opposed to typing a message on a website forum where the system doesn't attempt to correct).

There is a VERY easy permanent fix that does not require an update to the operating system.

From the MAIN settings page, click Language & input.

Then uncheck the Spelling correction.

You will STILL have autocorrection, since it is built into the Android keyboard. Part of the slowdown is the system trying to autocorrect twice.

Simply uncheck the Spelling correction checkbox, and your typing lag problem will be fixed.

Enjoy!
