We spend more time using our mattresses than we do using almost any other purchased item. Every week we spend at least 6 hours per day using it (hopefully more, to be healthy). And frankly, we can't really live very well without using it...we need sleep.

There are so many health issues that are tied to how well we sleep: blood pressure, cardiovascular health, stress, weight loss, skeletal-muscular health, etc. We NEED a good mattress.

Make no mistake, there is a significant difference between a high-quality mattress and a cheaply-constructed one. Your body can either wake up rested and refreshed, or fatigued, depending on how supportive the mattress is, and how well it displaces your weight. So, naturally, high-quality mattress sets cost more, because of the better materials (like heavier gauge coils, and frame, thicker padding, etc.).

BUT, there is a way to get good deals: buying a high-quality model for the price of a cheap mattress set.

THEN you take that brand and model name to your computer, and find a wholesaler. Always go for the highest quality you can...your body will thank you. But find a high-quality mattress set online for a cheap mattress set price.

Last note: avoid the big-box stores and membership stores, since the quality of their mattresses is notoriously low.

How to Buy Stackable Office Chairs

We recently had to look at buying stacking office chairs for our church's fellowship hall. At first we looked locally, at the big-box office supply chains. Then we started looking online.

We were pretty surprised at how expensive many of the chairs were, even for the 'basic' models.

We eventually found a model that would work for us. We needed the kind that would stack 20 high, because we had only a small space to put the chairs when we needed to clear the room entirely. (Some of the chairs we looked at only stacked 4 high, and would not have saved us enough room.)

Then we ran into a problem, which was explained at http://stackingofficechairs.net. Namely, the weight of the stacked chairs. We had forgotten to budget for dollies to move the chairs in a full stack. Uh-oh. Now we have to put the chairs where we want them and stack them, instead of piling them up where they are and moving them to the storage space.

We will remedy that soon, but it's something to consider when you're looking at these types of stackable chairs.

Where to Buy Wii

It's a little frustrating how difficult it is to figure out where to buy a Wii. Even big online shops like Walmart and Best Buy are out of stock!

I've tried Circuit City, Game Stop, and all the local game shops like Play N Trade, etc. They all tell me the same thing: "We're out of them right now, but we should have 3 units in on Tuesday." When Tuesday comes, I get there and they tell me that they're gone already.

It's ridiculous.

My kids really prefer to have the accessories...the games make a lot more sense to them when they are swinging a golf club, not just the Wiimote.

I find that Nintendo Wii systems are hard to come by. For some reason the local retailers can't keep them in stock.

You'd think that they'd make plenty of them, considering it's the only video game that actually gives you exercise! They are designed to be family-friendly, so that they are getting more customers in on the action. But, alas, stores are selling out the day they get their shipments in. And it's still early. Imagine how difficult it will be to find one in time for Christmas!
