So, how do you get the vanity URL in Facebook, like: "facebook.com/YourPage"?

Well, first, you login to Facebook using your account that has Admin permissions for the page.

Next, in the URL bar in your web browser, type this URL exactly:

http://facebook.com/username

DON'T replace 'username' with your username.  It's actually the exact word 'username' that needs to appear at the end of the URL.

That takes you to a screen where it lets you select your page, and assign it a new name.  It will let you check if the name has already been assigned first.  So the name you choose has to be unique.

Use caution...once you assign the custom URL for your Facebook Page, it cannot be changed.

And the content can't be "duplicate content". Well, it can, and even though there may be no such thing as a "duplicate content penalty", your pages and articles will do much, MUCH better if they are unique and original. AND if they contain good quality.

An easy way to find content to write about that is highly-searched is to visit the Hot Trends Research Tool.

The 'How to Use This Site' page explains it all well, but basically, this is a pretty cool website.

First, on the main page it lists the most-searched phrases from Google (using Google's Hot Trends), updated every several hours.

Then, if you click on any one of those keyword phrases, it takes you to an individual page that has a bunch of information about that niche keyword/phrase.  There are blog posts, forum threads, news items, Yahoo Answers questions, YouTube videos, etc., all about that keyword phrase.  There are also some Google Insight trending data on there.

That gives you a great way to research a hot topic all on one page.  You can write an article based on what you're reading on that page, and even include an image or a video.

It even shows you any Open Yahoo Answers questions so you could post a reply and a link to your new blog post that you just wrote.  Since it's a highly-searched phrase in Google, it stands to reason that Yahoo Answers is getting searched, too.  (Not to mention that Yahoo Answers do show up in Google searches!)

It's a handy little tool for researching hot niche keywords.  Bookmark the site, and refer to it often, since it is always updating with new searched keywords.
