Using a stationary exercise bike is much less likely to cause injury than actually riding a real bike. However, just like with any exercise equipment, there is always a risk of injury when you are working out your muscles. While you definitely won't get hit by a car, crash into something, or fall of the exercise bike like you might on a real bike, you are still using muscle groups that you might not be used to, and putting yourself in an ergonomic position that is different for you.

There are four major categories of injuries on a stationary bike: knee, hip, back, and wrist injuries. Knee injuries are usually caused when the seat is incorrectly adjusted or the resistance is set too high. Hip injuries usually occur by using the bike too frequently and exercising too strenuously without slowly increasing the workout intensity. Back injuries can happen by using improper posture during the workout. And wrist injuries develop when fatigue sets which causes a person to lean forward on the handlebars, placing too much weight and strain on the wrists over time.

All of these injuries can be avoided by: properly adjusting the machine, keeping the correct, upright posture during the workout, and using workout routines that are only moderately strenuous.

You do NOT have to push yourself hard on a stationary bike. Low resistance and a slow pace is still a really good workout, even though you may not be feeling it right away. Even though the large muscle groups, such as the thigh muscles, may feel strong to you, and able to push harder, there are many smaller muscle groups that do not get worked out, and you risk injuring these by pushing yourself too hard. If you have been using an upright bike, you may consider switching to a recumbent bike, or vise versa, just to mix it up a bit. Take it slow, and in small doses.

You may not need to wear a helmet to avoid injury on an exercise bike, but you still need to use common sense about the limits of your body.

You've already heard the reasons why you should use a neti pot: cleaner sinuses, less sickness, less stuffiness and runny nose, etc. But have you heard the mistakes that neti pot users often make?

poor cleaning of the pot - you are inserting the tip of the pot into your bacteria-laden nostril. And you are hoping that none of the fluid that flows into your nose drains back into the pot. Neti pots need to be carefully cleaned and cared for, or you can actually introduce more bacteria into your sinuses.

improper mixing of the solution - in an attempt to dry up their sinuses, some neti pot users mix a 'hypertonic' solution...one that is saltier than their nasal lining. While this does provide short-term drying, it can actually irritate the lining, causing further inflammation.

improper use of the neti pot - poor technique can reduce the effectiveness of a nasal lavage. For example, if the head is not tilted entirely to the side, only the lower sinuses will receive the benefit of the nasal rinse.

Anodyne Therapy works as a non-invasive, drug-free method to increase local circulation to nerves and tissues and reduce neuropathic pain. Treatment in Anodyne Neuropathy Care Centers® is reimbursed by most private insurance companies and Medicare. Patients may be able to get a home system through their insurance or Medicare if they have objective improvement in their condition after a clinical course of treatment.

Anodyne Therapy works by using monochromatic infrared energy (MIRE) to release nitric oxide from the patient’s red blood cells. This improves nerve function and is important for making new blood vessels and healing wounds. It is reported that "low levels of nitric oxide are common in people with diabetes and are a major factor in the poor circulation, loss of sensation, chronic falls, foot ulcers and pain of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.”

The manufacturer also emphasizes that Anodyne Therapy has been clinically proven to increase local microcirculation and reduce pain. It says there are several clinical studies that demonstrate significant clinical outcomes including restoration of protective sensation in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, pain reduction, increased nerve conduction and faster healing of diabetic ulcers and other chronic wounds. Podiatrists also tout the product’s benefits.

The Anodyne Therapy works by using a device - a box with eight pads. The light from the diodes on the pads is absorbed by hemoglobin in the blood, causing the release of nitric oxide. Nitric Oxide causes dilation of the blood vessels and increases blood flow to the affected area. Ultimately, the treatment can help form new blood vessels in the treated area, allowing the wound to heal faster.

Anodyne Therapy works for individuals with numbness or pain in their feet or legs combined with difficult with gait or balance. People with diabetes, peripheral vascular disease (PVD) and chronic wounds are most likely to benefit from Anodyne Therapy. Patients who have benefited from Anodyne include those with:

* Diabetic Neuropathy
* Carpal Tunnel/Tarsal Tunnel
* Chronic Wounds
* Sprains/Strains
* Chronic Pain
* Degenerative Disc Disease
* Contractures/Frozen Shoulder
* Plantar Fascitis
* Osteoarthritis
* Tendonitis/Bursitis

The strange phenomenon where the ear is ringing without audible sound from the outside is called tinnitus.

Generally, the ear ringing appears when you have some difficulties in hearing. This jarring noise gives you various agonies from sleeplessness to depression. The exact cause of tinnitus is a hard-to-find answer by many specialists.

Does tinnitus cause stress? I do not think that way. It is stress that cause tinnitus, isn't it? Tinnitus itself is not a disease but a symptom resulting from wide range of causes, including ear infections, foreign objects, earwax, injury from loud noises or sounds, and side effects of some medications such as aspirin and serotonin.

Although this is not definite, some research groups reported to us that climate or certain seasonable atmosphere might make people to have ear ringing, and also to those who have nervous temperament.

WHAT IS TINNITUS? A definition from an internet news:

The symptoms of tinnitus include ringing noises in the ears or hearing sounds that seem to be coming from inside your head. The sounds of tinnitus may be varied and sufferers report the noise as ringing, buzzing, whistling, beating or roaring. The noise may be continuous, may come and go, be heard in one ear or in both. Tinnitus is sometimes associated with hearing loss. For some, tinnitus may be nothing but an annoying little sound they hear every now and then, but for the unlucky ones, tinnitus can reduce the ability to concentrate or hear outside noises and may become completely debilitating - preventing the sufferer from leading a normal life.

WHAT REALLY CAUSES TINNITUS?

Tinnitus is usually caused by damage to the microscopic hairs that line the auditory cells in the ear. These hairs usually move in response to sound waves detected, producing a brain wave that is experienced as sound. When damaged, these hairs become bent or broken and move randomly in a constant state of irritation, producing "sound" impulses in the brain.

Degenerative damage in people of advancing age is a common cause of tinnitus and usually paired with hearing loss. In younger sufferers, exposure to loud noise is probably the leading culprit.

Other causes of tinnitus may be as benign as a small plug of wax in the ear that is easily removed. Tinnitus may also occur as a result of head and neck injury, stiffening of the bones in the middle ear or as a side effect of prescription drugs.

Sometimes, tinnitus may be caused by an actual sound produced in your body that becomes audible due to disease or proximity to the ear (objective tinnitus). Circulation problems such as high blood pressure and atherosclerosis can cause the sound of blood flow in vessels close to the ear to become more forceful, or turbulent - allowing your ear to detect the sound. Malformation or narrowing of blood vessels in the head and neck can have the same effect. More rarely, tinnitus is a symptom of a tumor in the head or neck.

There is no definite answer for tinnitus at all. All the answer seems to be just guessing games.

Probably, your physician told you, "Hmmm, there's no abnormality anywhere, anyhow. Hmmm, here's your medicine." It is impossible that there's no abnormality. If there is nothing wrong, where does that ear ringing come from?

Well, how does that ringing sound produced? Many doctors in Japan believe that the cause might be due to autonomic imbalance; vegetative dystonia, or distortion of Gnathal, arthropathy. Aside from that, stiff shoulders and high blood pressure are at top list. Most doctors are unclear about the real cause of tinnitus.

I'm 26 years old and have been breaking out since forever. I thought as i got older i would start breaking out less but it was only getting worse! I started getting cystic acne all over my cheeks and was getting scarring due to the acne! I was so depressed I didnt even want to go out anymore.

I was using Proactive since it worked for me as a teenager but it wasnt working anymore and my acne was getting worse and i was getting more and more painfull large cysts! I tired everything on the market and nothing! I cant afford to go to a doctor so i did some research online to find a product that might work for me or at least help a little. I think i found something! I dont want to jinx myself but I just cant belive its working!!!! I bought Klear Action Acne treatment system . I swear i didnt think it would work but i was so desperate i was willing to try it. The box says compare to Proactiv and I wasnt so sure since proactiv didnt work for me. Dont let that stop you from buying it and trying it! The first night i used it the next morning when i woke up the cysts on my face were half the size and the redness was 75% gone! So far its been 7 days and my skin is about 70 percent clear all thats left is a little redness but no new cysts AND its all clearing up!!! AND NO NEW PIMPLES!!!

Please give this a try! It was only about 20 bucks! I hope this will work for someone as well!

UPDATE**

7 days later im clearer then i have been in a long long time! I am amazed by this product i never thought this work so well. During the day I've been using Almay Clear complexion Makeup which has salicylic acid in it perfect combo with the Klear action system! Anyone with questions please feel free to ask!

Storing Cord Blood in a blood bank has become popular for a host of reasons, especially in couples with high-risk pregnancies. If their child may have medical issues, having the cord blood in storage is a good idea for future use.

However, some mothers are looking to be more altruistic. If they have a low-risk pregnancy, with fully healthy infants, they may not need to store the cord blood in a bank. Or they may simply not want to pay for it. But they don't want to see the valuable cord blood go to waste and may want to help other babies whose parents can't afford to store the cord blood themselves.

Cyrobanks is a cord blood bank that is collecting blood nationally, accepting donations of cord blood. Donating is simple enough. The forms need to be completed by the end of the 34th week of pregnancy, and that the cord blood goes to the national registry (not to research) and is managed by the National Marrow Donor Program.

This can be a good option if you do not want your cord blood used in research.

If you are ok with having the blood used in research, the New England Cord Blood Bank is collecting cord blood for research studies.

So contact either one of those agencies to find out how to donate cord blood.
