If you've seen the Barack Obama Hussein Morph video, you know that it's pretty cool looking. It might be totally politically-incorrect and a bit disturbing, but hey...it caught your attention!
And what might surprise you is how easy it was to make it. Here's how to do it:
- Download Fantamorph, by Abrosoft.
- Search the internet for two images you want to blend. Save them to your hard drive. Make sure the images are of a similar orientation (ie: both facing left, both facing the camera, etc.), and of a similar size. If you need to edit the image, GIMP is a powerful, but free, photo editor. You can use it to crop or resize the image (among other things).
- Insert the two images into Fantamorph. Place dots on one picture, and move the corresponding dot on the other picture. For example, place a dot in the center of the left eye on one image, and another dot will appear on the other image...move that dot to the center of the left eye.
- Repeat with lots of dots until the images blend well. Typically I match up dots on and around the eyes, nose, mouth, and hairline. Sometimes the ears.
- Export the image to an .AVI file. Make sure you check the options to include reverse frames.
- Open Windows Movie Maker, and import the .AVI file you created.
- Insert the .AVI into the video two or three times. Personally, I like to then 'Split' the movie where the blend looks the coolest. Then use the 'Slow Down' effect and stretch out that final frame.
- Publish the Video onto your Desktop.
Voila! Now you've made your own morph video!
