If you have a Blackberry that suddenly stops displaying new emails, take a look at the top of the screen near where the 'bars' appear to indicate signal strength.

Look for the phrase '1XEV'.  It is probably missing.  (This indicates the connection you have to a data network.)  It might say something like '1V', or something short, but not the full '1XEV'.

USUALLY the solution is very simple.  Remove the battery cover, and take out the battery.

Wait for a few seconds (maybe count to 15), then put the battery back in, close the battery cover, and power up the Blackberry again.

Many times this restores connection to the network, and you should see the '1XEV' again.

Your emails will likely start updating and messages will pour into your Blackberry then, and the problem is fixed.
