How to Get Line Breaks in Wordpress
It can be frustrating that Wordpress automatically deletes the extra line breaks that you add to a post. I mean, you've got good reason for putting them there, right? Maybe you want some extra white space...maybe you need to align something, whatever. But Wordpress doesn't let you do it.
In fact, even if you try workarounds like <br> tags, <p> tags, nbsp symbols, etc., none of them work.
There is a quick and easy fix.
There's a plugin called TinyMCE Advanced. Download and install this plugin.
Then, in the Settings panel for TinyMCE Advanced, there's an option toward the bottom that reads:
"Stop removing the <p> and <br /> tags when saving and show them in the HTML editor"
Set that checkbox on.
You're done! You can now add extra spaces, even from the WYSIWYG editor just by hitting the enter key!
I hope this helps...it was driving me crazy for a while, so when I figured out how to get line breaks in Wordpress, I thought I'd share!
