How Do I Download Videos from YouTube?
If you want to download videos from YouTube, and convert them to .avi files or .wmv files, you can do it easily with two pieces of software.
First, use Firefox browser. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
Second, download the Firefox plugin called DownloadHelper. To do this, from Firefox click Tools -> Addons -> Get Addons, and enter 'DownloadHelper' in the search box. (no space between the words)
Install it and restart Firefox.
Go to YouTube and open a video you want to download.
Click the dropdown arrow next to the DownloadHelper icon from the bar in Firefox. Click the name of the video, and it will save the .flv to your computer.
You can then right-click the icon and choose Preferences. Check on the 'Conversion Enabled' checkbox. If you need the converter installed, click the Install Now button and it will take you to a place where you can download it. Once you install the first time it's done.
From then on, when you right-click the icon you will have the option to 'Convert Video'. You can convert it to a non-.flv format, such as wmf, mpg, avi, and more.
